PROJECTS >US 41 BYPASS

Project Summary

The project will include the reevaluation of the original Project Development and Environmental Study from September 1994 and design improvements to US 41 (Venice Bypass) from Center Road to south of US 41 Business North.

The reevaluation is necessary due to the increase in right-of-way costs and the need to develop a typical section and preferred alignment that will reduce right-of-way costs.

This 2.5 mile roadway is projected to widen from four to six lanes of traffic. The project is needed to provide more capacity to the roadway.

Reconstruction of the roadway will expand it to a six-lane boulevard.  Public information workshops related to the Venice bypass featured a 15 minute narrated video presentation to explain the project to the public.  This presentation was then converted to an interactive web based format for access to the public via the internet.
